jojo’s Design’s specializes in custom, professional stationery.
My name is Kelly and I am the owner and sole designer. I can design anything from your entire wedding suite to chalkboard prints.
I have always had a passion for art and design. When I was little and we got our first computer I remember trying to make a “book” out of all of the clipart images because I loved browsing through all of the artwork. Fonts have always interested me as well.
I went to college for PR and Advertising. Right before my last year I realized that I’d love to be a graphic designer. At the time, UNO didn’t offer graphic design so I changed my minor from literature to art (per my advisors advice). I interned at a t-shirt printing company and I LOVED IT. Since then (that was in 2009) I’ve worked at two more t-shirt printing companies and provided freelance services to several others. It wasn’t until I got engaged, though, that I realized I also love to design save-the-dates, invitations, etc. I designed everything for my wedding and started doing small jobs for friends. In 2012 I was asked by a wedding planner to help out all of her brides with their wedding suite needs. I haven’t stopped since!

What’s in a name?
jojo’s Designs isn’t just any name. The name was created to serve as an “in memory” of my younger brother, Nick.
From the day Nick could talk he called me “jojo.” I don’t know if “Kelly” was too hard to say, or what. He called me jojo until he passed away in 2007 from a terrible car accident. He was 19. Our lives completely changed that day. I think about him daily. I wonder what kind of uncle he’d be to his niece and nephews. No doubt, he’d be amazing. He was great with kids.
It truly didn’t take me long to decide on a name for my work. There was never any second thought that it would involve “jojo” somehow. I feel proud to carry on my nickname in this way. I think Nick would have thought it was pretty cool.
